Maurits is so typically seen as either detached from reality or a two-faced hatemonger... I dunno, recalling the main quest, I remember being struck by the fact that they referred to the Ferines NPCs accompanying Walter to the Man-Eating Ruins as "Ferines youths." And then there's some others who are old enough to have lost children...

Talking with Tardy made me realize that Maurits is probably one of the oldest of the living Ferines. And that's gotta suck a lot, considering your warriors are only "youths." :\
