Live-action Sailor Moon
So ... yeah. I finally discovered Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.
I can't say I'm surprised that it exists; the world just wouldn't be right without Sailor Moon, right? What I am surprised about is that I like the changes in the plot; it goes against both manga and anime, and I'm totally okay with it because it's intriguing.
-- Kunzite turns Mercury evil at some point.
-- Minako functions solo from the other Senshi for a long time.
-- Beryl is much more aware about who the Senshi are; the girls refer to each other by their real names in battle.
-- Luna can transform into a little human girl and fight with the Senshi.
-- The focus is much more on their past lives.
-- The Dark Kings don't bite the dust so early on.
-- Jadeite is blindly loyal to Beryl, but no longer the Dark King that fails all the time; that honor has been bestowed upon Nephrite.
-- Nephrite is a wuss and a smartass. Hahahaha!
-- Kunzite and Zoisite both have their memories from their past lives, but use them for different reasons. Kunzite seems intent to protect Mamoru/Endymion by having him never remember his past life and end up destroying the world again; Zoisite wants Mamoru to remember so that he can consciously avoid being around Usagi.
-- So, from that last point, the only "good" Dark King is initially Zoisite. >__> Freeeaky in comparison to the anime, where he's cruel and bent on killing Tuxedo Kamen.
The Japanese actors were a bit weird to deal with at first, since I'm so used to seeing BSSM with these decidedly-white character models. But it works; I love the Senshi's actors.
So ... yeah. Back to writing this paper.
