I give you a line from a crucial scene in the unwritten story.
"The brand on his arm throbs, hot lines of pain and change streaking out from it, and Zack feels his flesh twisting, burning, reforming, and the voice in the back of his head howls feed me."

"Grandfather is a great man," the little boy argued. He was young, impressionable, and had only heard inspiring things of his grandfather since he was born. Granted, he had never met the man, but all those people could not possibly be wrong, right?

"A great man does not live in an all-but deserted, burnt town for years on end. A better term would be 'loony.'"
