Legendia thoughts + Gundam music = Legendia mecha. Seriously.
I'll take care of the HTML and LJ cutting when I get home. For now, yeah...
Enjoy?
Red alert… Red alert…
Senel overrode the deafening warning beacons, practically growling into his headset as the cockpit shook from another energy blast. The Mariner-VI was taking too much damage from the relentless Sentinel; his tank was leaking fuel and the stability burners on his left leg were shot, leaving him careening with each hit that threatened to set him ablaze.
“Coolidge, stand down! You’re badly damaged!”
He hissed at Chloe’s crackling voice over the system, reluctantly activating his boosters and falling back. Chloe’s antique and Moses’ glorified trash mecha quickly filled up the space Senel had vacated, attacking the Sentinel with sword and spear respectively.
“Senny, don’t be stupid out there! Shirl’s not going anywhere!”
Norma’s screech could be heard over the clang of metal against metal out of his cockpit, and he adjusted his headset and set to her frequency. “Start up the repairs, Norma. I don’t have time for this.”
He could hear her pout on the other end. “My crystal eres is already engaged. Hurry up.”
Senel sped to where Norma’s scavenger mech was waiting, impatiently waiting for Will and Grune to move their own so he could be properly attended to.
Grune’s Weaver mech released an Aqua Laser from its crystal eres system, which earned the somewhat vacant-minded pilot a stern reminder from Will that they were fighting Ferines creation. Grune’s next crystal eres attack was an ice elemental, which was at least an improvement.
“Come on, Norma!” Senel hit his console angrily, glaring past the Sentinel at the winged mech. The Whisper Crystal emanated its controlling light from the lithe form’s chest, protected by the black teriques of its Ferines pilot.
“Senel, once you’re ready to engage, we need to aim for Walter,” Jay’s voice cut through the angry haze Senel had enclosed himself in. “The Sentinel’s too strong. I can throw a Pyre dagger to weaken the teriques, but you’ll need to get in quickly and shatter the crystal.”
“The Delques is fast, Senel, so be careful,” Will commented, his voice almost lost over the thrum of his crystal eres system generating power.
“Senny and JJ are the fastest, so it’s up to you guys! All right, Senny, you’re ready to kick Wally’s butt!”
“Thanks guys,” Senel sighed, easing forward on the controls. “Jay, whenever you’re ready.”
“I’m sending the schemata sequence directly into your mech, Senel,” Jay reported, the tapping of his ever-present omniboard audible over the frequency. “You’ll need to control your iron eres by yourself, but that shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Downloaded. Got it, Jay.”
“Initiating sequence…”
Senel buried his hands into the eres channels on either side of his control panel, concentrating all of his energy into pushing his iron eres system into overdrive. The warning beacons were ringing again, but he ignored them as he was thrust straight at the enemy mech.
Beast Impact. Landslide. Swallow Dance. Shadow Rush.
The first two techniques struck hard into the teriques, which fluctuated but held fast. The Ferines mech was already trying to put distance between them, but was briefly stunned by Jay’s flaming iron eres. A solid blow to the chest broke through the teriques and shattered the Whisper Crystal, effectively deactivating the Sentinel.
Breathing heavily from the strain of using his iron eres, Senel opened a channel to the dark mech. “It’s over, Walter. We’re going to see Shirley.”
The communication link crackled. Already weakened from pushing his own eres system into overdrive in their last encounter, Walter sounded like it took every in him just to breathe. His teriques had not reformed after the attack, which showed just how affected he had been.
“I’ll … never let you … near the Merines. I will prote--”
Senel frowned out of his cockpit, nearing the battered mech warily. “You’ve lost, Walter.”
“No.”
The Delques lurched forward, and Senel gasped as the Ferines craft grabbed hold of him in a death lock.
“Walt--!”
And the Delques exploded.
