Xenosaga III, done.
Finished the game. The most disappointing thing is that I have no desire to go back and get all the final weapons and swimsuits anymore. ... Maybe I'll get Jr.'s, since I'm close to finishing that level of HaKox. Eventually. I need to rest my brain.
As a whole, I have an empty feeling in my gut now with that ending. Not to say that the ending's bad or anything... But I'm sure I'm not the only one to share the sentiment.
I get the feeling that Xenosaga as a whole won't end with this trilogy. Unless Monolith intends to leave it as open-ended as they did. Which is pure torture.
I can't say Jin's death shocked me... Margulis was right to say that Jin was alone and no one understood him; with him and Pellegri dead, Jin really had no one else that really ... knew him. But just because I wasn't too shocked by his death doesn't mean I didn't wince each time he got impaled. Seriously -- a sword dropping through his back? x_x;
Of the entire cast, I'd really like to know what happened with Jr., which is funny because I really didn't pick favorites during the games... Well, except for Albedo. Maybe that's why I want to know what happens with him.
I didn't like how Nephilim's existence had to be explained AFTER the ending. With all the cryptic messages she left around, you would think she would have a chance to explain where the heck she came from.
... Something that just struck me: with the UMN gone now with the disappearance of Wilhelm and Mary, there didn't seem to be any communication between planets or even ship vessels. If that's so ... why did it look like Mary and Shelley were talking to Helmer?
And that's all I have to say there.

Oh, come on. Doesn't Ziggy's sexy, sexy mankini tempt you?

I think the ending is a mixed bag. Sad because some folks had to go away, happy because nagging stuff was resolved, and there was the promise (or maybe blind hope, haha) that everyone would eventually reunite. I might've taken the whole thing a little too much at face value, but I wasn't disappointed with it in the least.

I think it depends on the reactions of the fans. There was an interview (either with Bamco or Monolith, on IGN or something) hinting toward that.
I can't say Jin's death shocked me...
To be honest, I'd been anticipating myself it since Episode II. Along with other deaths, but I was only half-right there.

I know! That part kind of annoyed me, though. Damn censors.

I figure it's like a Cartman/Kenny thing... where Kenny occasionally took control of Cartman's body after Cartman drank Kenny's ashes (thinking it was chocolate drink mix). I could just see it now...
MOMO: Oh, Jr., you're back!
Jr.: Hey, MOMO! How's it going-- urgh...arrgh...! *arms jerking* What are you doing, Albedo?! No, stop it!
MOMO: Jr....? What's wrong?
Jr.: *grabs MOMO* How...I've...missed...you...ma...peche...!
MOMO: *PUNCH*
Well, okay, maybe not. But it would be interesting to see Albedo wake up.

There was a flash movie... okay, in six parts... that apparently went into detail about Nephilim and Grimoire, but it's in Japanese and I don't understand a lick of it!
... Something that just struck me: with the UMN gone now with the disappearance of Wilhelm and Mary, there didn't seem to be any communication between planets or even ship vessels. If that's so ... why did it look like Mary and Shelley were talking to Helmer?
I figured while MOMO was setting up the new network, they might've been using the "old" methods of communication, such as digital/electronic. I was sure someone mentioned that in the game... if I remember right, it was when Miyuki was trying to contact the Elsa at the end.
