Suikoden II endings

So ... about Rockaxe and 108 stars in Suikoden II...? I'm a little perplexed.


I've done the Rockaxe corridor scene several times now because I had a nagging feeling that I hadn't done the scene correctly to save Nanami at the end. That nagging feeling was later confirmed when I went back to Tenzan Pass and couldn't save Jowy.

I was browsing FAQs to try to figure out what I had done wrong, dreading the entire time that I'd have to play through the entire game. Didn't find anything useful that I hadn't already done, so I went back and played the scene again to see how Huan's diagnosis changed accordingly...

The deciding factor seemed to be denying Nanami's last request. And that struck me as odd because I totally don't remember that from waaay back when I first beat the game. It could also be staying in close proximity to the clinic while waiting for news about Nanami's condition, but ... I dunno. I just remember being surprised when Huan finally called Shu into the clinic.

So, basically, I'm wondering if anyone remembers the game well enough to remember if they called Nanami "Big Sister" before she passed out or not. I know for sure you need to shout out her name when Gorudo attacks, but the Big Sister thing... Or maybe it was the proximity to the clinic door? I haven't a clue...

*wonders if any of that made sense before going to get a few more hours of sleep*

Its alittle tricky and I don't recall to clearly,but I think it was calling Nanami Out and having all 108 stars before this event :/.This is all based on faint memory.
I'm still at Lucas Blight since I haven't played the game since '05.I should get back on it :O because I wanna get all 108 on S3.S4 was easy and S5 I need to regain the Mojo to play again.

You should be calling her big sister, as well. The rest I'm not sure on.

However, you can do everything absolutely perfectly and she can still die---I've had that happen many a time. So basically you just need a bit of luck too. Keep trying. XD

I think you can shout out either thing when she is shot at to get her, but as for the rest, dunno.

I never realized it had to do with ARMOR. I recall that in the FAQs I had, you needed all 108 stars before taking on Rockaxe and when given the chance between "Nanami!" and "Look Out!" you had a half second to pick one. You NEEDED to make a decision and hit the button before the game took the choice away from you. And THAT, so says the FAQ, is what will save her. I played the game two or three times and I always did it that way and I always saved her. Of course, I never stripped her of armor either...
