Title: Masks

Author's Notes: Suikoden V references. No spoilers concerning it, though.
Mentions an observation of Nether Gate's masks that is more than likely wrong.

As he fell to his knees, he could only wonder why things had to end this way. Why was he dying in a land he did not know? Why was the mask of a crazed assassin on par with Yuber the last thing he would see?
"There will be no signs of a struggle," the man had said. "Do not fret; your death will be used to declare war on that blight of a neighboring country, Armes."
"Why?"
"Your dual loyalties are not looked upon favorably. Your reputation as a traitor precedes you."
The mask the assassin wore reminded him of a certain Masked Bishop he had once worked for. As his vision blurred, he fleetingly wondered if karma truly existed.
