Mm... School. And other things, of course.
Fun times, fun times. Got out of my first class early, so I've got ... oh, three hours before my next one. So I'll be here awhile. Yay, but not really.
Hm... What to write...? I've been spending my time the last few days wallowing in writer's block and near-isolation. It's nice and detached and quiet.
I guess I won't have to carry my books back and forth to classes except for studying purposes. I hope the reading's light, considering how many projects (and another portfolio) I've got for just my first class. I always hate that feeling where it seems like I can handle the workload after one class, and then start feeling anxious and stressed after getting the full picture for the quarter. Funny thing is, I can't even begin to imagine what the other two classes are going to be based on -- projects or exams. Hopefully not projects, simply because then I'd be tearing my hair out each week.
Textbooks are looking to be less than $200 this quarter. This is a good thing.
Since beating Xenosaga III, I haven't gone back to playing Disgaea 2 yet. I've detoured over to Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and, more recently, More Friends of Mineral Town for GBA. I'll be taking a break from that, though, to see if I can beat Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria before school starts getting hectic. I figure I've got about a week, maybe a little less. Silmeria looks gorgeous, from the little I've seen and spoiled for myself. Having loved VP: Lenneth for years, I can't wait to start in on the game... Mm, necromancer.
What else...? ... Nothing's coming to mind. I've got a meeting for STC tomorrow and then a work meeting on Friday. *winces* I'm not looking forward to telling Jason I haven't finished arbitrating yet.
I think we're still on to go to Sushiland tonight. Huzzah, huzzah.
It's funny how unwritten epics continue to bite me in the ass over the years. I've had the ideas fleshed out for, as I just said, years, but never gone anywhere with them. Even with the muses mostly dead and the urge to write dormant more often than not, I've got three or four different epics that randomly pop up.
It's mostly funny because the epics that I started, got far into, and discarded don't do that to me. Wild Dragons, Merging Journeys, Origin of the Dark Messenger, Star of Destiny, Darkness Bloom, Threads of the Mind... Nope. Nothing. Even Tabularasa's almost made that category, which is kinda sad. Flashpoint's made its way in there and doesn't appear to be climbing out. Sigh.
I don't count Journeymen's Survival in this because I threw out the first chapter altogether. The focus has changed a ton since my original ideas -- Gremio and Shu were originally the major characters, but now it looks like Thomas is taking over that role. Nash keeps beating me over the head for making him violent (HAH!), Albert's resigned himself to being a puppet, and Lymsleia's been prepping herself for becoming one of the lead girls. The Stars of Heaven and Earth seem to be reintroducing themselves to the plot, too.
I've even been reconsidering who I was going to use and/or kill in the story. Jowy's still biting the dust, Futch is out of the picture, Gizel and Ferid will be fun to throw in, Camus will probably live, Kika wants to wear a wetsuit, Mathiu is no longer in the same institute as Shu and Apple, and I still have to decide who the heck I want Luc to entrust Sarah to. Viktor may not make the final cut, Geddoe dies, Yuber fluctuates in and out of the plot, Sarah bears the weight of the world on her shoulders, and Jeane and Viki may appear with small roles. Nanami is likely to live, Shu's role isn't as dire anymore, plans for Chris and Sasarai are still tentative (though I know what Chris' major contribution will be, but not Sasarai's), Zahhak and Alenia would provide nice tension, and Culgan and Seed ... ... ... I don't know what I want to do about Culgan anymore.
And perhaps the biggest spoiler, which will almost definitely be in the story:
Synthetic Individual Learned in Various Elemental Runes, Biological Engineering, and Runic Genetics
