Pop 'n Music 13's homage to Suikoden V
So, anyone that's been to SARS in the past might have heard awhile back that Pop 'n Music, part of Konami's Bemani collection, would have Suikoden V's hero appear in the thirteenth game. I finally got a chance to unlock him (took more than 13 play-throughs), but now he's my default character when I play. *grins*
Some things I've noticed:
-- His name is "Prince Falenas" in the game.
-- His normal action is to run forward; as you build up your gauge, he will strike a fighting pose (like he does in the game intro) or straighten his three-part staff and thrust it forward.
-- His fever action is to raise his Rune; you can see images of some of the Stars rise up while the Rune glows. Some of the Stars I was able to see were Lucretia, Kyle, Georg, and Miakis. (All of the characters are chibi, since that's a Pop 'n Music staple.)
-- When he loses, you see him in his wanderer disguise with his hand held up in determination. In the background, you can see Ferid and Arshtat's images floating in the night sky, followed by Miakis and Lymsleia's.
--I haven't seen his normal winning action yet. We see the Prince hugging Lymsleia in the foreground with Miakis, Kyle, and Georg in the background.
-- When he wins with a full gauge, his chibi character image slides to the right as he makes that fighting pose with his left palm facing forward. Then his official character art slides into the background and the kanji for "Genso Suikoden V" show up at the bottom.
-- I'm not sure which song it is they put into the game that the Prince shows up with. It sounds very familiar, so it's from Suikoden V, but I can't for the life of me tell what song they remixed. I'm guessing it's either the theme, Sol-Falena, or the overworld map...
Edit: Added pictures and "normal winning action."

Prince Falenas' regular action: running

As his gauge builds up, he transitions into...

this pose...

... or...

... this pose.

His fever transition

Raising his Rune hand; what isn't shown is the Rune glowing and pictures of the Stars showing up

The Prince's losing scene; Miakis and Lymsleia can be seen in the background

The Prince's full-gauge winning scene
