Suikoden II endings

So ... about Rockaxe and 108 stars in Suikoden II...? I'm a little perplexed.

I've done the Rockaxe corridor scene several times now because I had a nagging feeling that I hadn't done the scene correctly to save Nanami at the end. That nagging feeling was later confirmed when I went back to Tenzan Pass and couldn't save Jowy.

I was browsing FAQs to try to figure out what I had done wrong, dreading the entire time that I'd have to play through the entire game. Didn't find anything useful that I hadn't already done, so I went back and played the scene again to see how Huan's diagnosis changed accordingly...

The deciding factor seemed to be denying Nanami's last request. And that struck me as odd because I totally don't remember that from waaay back when I first beat the game. It could also be staying in close proximity to the clinic while waiting for news about Nanami's condition, but ... I dunno. I just remember being surprised when Huan finally called Shu into the clinic.

So, basically, I'm wondering if anyone remembers the game well enough to remember if they called Nanami "Big Sister" before she passed out or not. I know for sure you need to shout out her name when Gorudo attacks, but the Big Sister thing... Or maybe it was the proximity to the clinic door? I haven't a clue...

*wonders if any of that made sense before going to get a few more hours of sleep*

yeah, well, it does kind of make sense, doesn't it? ^^; i guess you'll have to settle for giving her some armor that'll just bring her defense to the critical value and save your best armor for others. i never unequipped her, even though i knew she was going to be gone for the rest of the game... i don't actually know why, either, since i usually do if i know something like that's coming up. ^^;

The Matilda Knights just drop Master Robes like crazy, so I took off the Dream Robe she'd been wearing and put that on her. *laughs* The first several times I took off her hat, armor, and Skill Ring because of exactly that reason--that I knew she wasn't coming back. Clive can always use more Skill Rings bwahahaha.

hehe, it's been a while since i played the game, so i don't remember which robe is better... in the context of the thread, i'm assuming that the master robe is weaker than the dream robe. ^^; i think i used to take off any useful items and accessories she had equipped, but left her armor on. *shrug* skill rings? i don't know if i ever used those...? *forgot*
