Those games I bought. And RPG Maker.

So remember how I mentioned awhile back that I bought the three Mario & Luigi games? I received them today.

Superstar Saga was a demo version that you would have seen in game stores. It even has the NOT FOR RESALE sticker on it.

Partners in Time was obviously a knockoff, with off-color covers and a noticeable cut on the instruction manual.

Bowser's Inside Story looks slightly off, with a wrinkled back cover. Like a game that was rejected from in-store sale.

......

When my dad mentioned that a lot of the scammers and whatnot had been moving from eBay to Amazon, I didn't really believe him. I sure believe him now.

I've sent messages around and am in the process of looking for another copy of Superstar Saga. In the mean time, I'm gonna go back to RPG Maker VX. I've gotta convert my RPG Maker XP data manually.

...I used to mess around with RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker XP awhile back. I decided to play around with the game again when I noticed there was a new version out.

Meet Factival. The inspiration for the character should be obvious.

I'm still in the process of deciding his wardrobe changes throughout the game.

From the RPG Maker XP version. Fact wakes up Lucifer in his tent (which is actually a storage tent).

Rune explains why Factival's academy was attacked.

Canthus (off-screen) explains why their troupe can stand traveling with three chickens and a goat.

Catching a chicken.

Shin tries to wake up Factival. With little success.

A test battle from RPG Maker XP.

In other news, went to the office yesterday for a team meeting. Got a contractor badge, so I can get into the building whenever I need to without my manager needing to buzz me in. The team meeting was the best part about work yesterday. When I got back home and started working (heh, how many people can say that?), I was flooded with e-mails about different projects and crap. Ugh. I've thankfully been able to finish the two immediate projects, and I can sleep in a little today.

And I'm sick, to boot! What a lovely week this is turning out to be.

Oh man, that really sucks about Amazon. Any time I wanted to grab something I felt was fast and safe, I'd go there. Guess I'll have to be careful from now on. :\ Sorry to hear about your extremely crummy experience.

But hooray RPG maker! Makes me miss it. Feel better too, Athena.

Yeah, just be careful. Talk to the seller before you do anything, even if they seem to have a solid reputation. ~_~ I've definitely learned my lesson.

Thanks, Khi. :( Awesome icon, btw.

.... Ouch, what the hell, Amazon :( That really sucks, I hope that can get sorted out.

That RPG maker stuff looks pretty cool :o

/hugs. Feel better :((

My brother's suggesting that I return all three games. I really don't want to deal with the hassle, but he's made a strong case. Siiigh. I just don't want to have to deal with packaging the games and sending them off.

It's really fun, yeah. Remember that original story I was talking about before? RPG Maker featured a rendition of that story.

Thank you. /hugs :(

wow, that's not cool at all. :/ i always trusted amazon sellers because i thought they couldn't have their good name sullied by bad sellers... bad for business and all. :/ i guess i'll need to be more careful with them from now on...

hope you get better soon!

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, definitely do that. I've had such good experiences with Amazon in the past that I didn't even think I'd be put in this position. It's really crappy.

And thank you~

[identity profile] yo-san.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh. I really thought Amazon was better than that. :(

Good grief, how long did you spend on making those sprites? This looks fantastic!

Get well soon. D:

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
I thought so, too! I guess I won't be buying games off Amazon sellers anymore. 8|;

Those are just recolors of existing sprites in the game. XD Even so, it took awhile to decide which colors looked good with red hair.

Thank you, Yosh. ♥

That's... so uncool. I've never heard of such fail from Amazon before. |D

Buuuut! Feel better soon. ♥

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I've never heard of such fail before my dad mentioned it. It's pretty terrible -- both the games I got from one seller were knockoffs, while the other was a demo. That's three for three. 8|;

Thanks, Trap! ♥

Sorry about your amazon Experience Ana, That truly is a pain. I went through something like that twice. Once it was with a GBA game which would up being a Chinese bootleg of the actual pokemon firered. I was angry, Because I wanted to suprise my niece with this, I couldn't because I had gotten ripped off. The second time I bought an RF wire for the nintendo since my old one broke..

Hm... if they won't take your item back, Just send it back, And tell Amazon that you've been ripped of, And mis-lead by the seller. If they won't help then your bank or credit card company should help :), They'll listen usually.

Oh....always becareful when buying NDS, or anything type of nintendo portable. People are scumbags on Amazon, And Ebay usually

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's horrible. Wow, I didn't realize you'd gone through such a bad experience, Adri. :( Man, I guess I'm not buying games from sellers unless I absolutely need to.

Yeah, that's pretty much what my brother said, too. :\ I really hope to just smooth it out with the seller and get a refund without having to report it to Amazon.

Right about now, I'd rather look around on eBay than Amazon. Ugh. 8|;

Yea D8...., gotta becareful with both sites. Also I have a guide here for you that'll help you in spotting fake GBA games. http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/3064338.html
