On apping

So I drop one angry guy and app another angry guy.

...

Yeah, that would go over well. I think I better wait out this finished-a-new-game rush before doing anything stupid. But augh, I'm getting random KH muses all over the place.

In related news, Birth by Sleep has my favorite battle system of the series so far. And I think it's the first one since the beginning of KH2 to make me cry. Very good game.

Now I'm super curious! Glad to hear you're enjoying BBS, though! It's definitely one of my personal favorites.

I am very randomly forming a muse for Saix of all people. Not to mention Terra and Aqua and geez, new KH games always do this... I don't get it, Mega. 8|

Saïx from playing BBS? That is random!

Though Terra and Aqua, not so much.

Maybe it's a random bit of INSPIRATION? I dunno. Either way, I think it helps that BBS is the first main KH game since KH2 to come out.

i'm definitely loving the battle system! haven't gotten very far in the story, though, because of school and everything. i'm definitely looking forward to finding out what happens next!

The new battle system flows very well. One of my gripes with KH in the past was how difficult it felt switching to magic or items (even with the shortcuts). It's very refined from past games.

i liked the shortcut system in kh2 a lot, actually... much better than trying to use items in kh1. thing is, if i set items in my deck, i sometimes end up mashing buttons and wasting items, which isn't something i'm a big fan of. i have to scroll past them to not use them when i don't need them, which kind of throws me off. that's really my only gripe with the whole battle system.

I'm really tempted to go out and buy BBS, but the last couple of KH games have left me severely disappointed, and I'm worried this one would end up the same as the others (though, from what I've read, I love Terra and would probably play just for his story).

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much out of the game myself; I hadn't kept up with it or the fandom, I'd gotten bored halfway through 358/2 Days, and such ... and I still enjoyed it. Terra's story is really pretty cool, especially towards the end. I was also very surprised to find that I liked Aqua as much as I did, so maybe you'll have a pleasantly surprised experience, too.

So are you as psyched as I am for Re:Coded?

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-10-07 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm happy to hear it'll be using a similar system to BBS'. Buuut to answer your question, it matters on how psyched you are. XD

I'm basically at the level of "SO EXCITE" to the same extent that I was for BBS. Days didn't do it for me and I think everyone ever knows my vendetta against KH2, but BBS I was really looking forward to and I'm there again for Re:Coded. Particularly in light of it going to be out so soon.

Also I love that everyone loves Aqua by the end of BBS. She so deserves it.

It definitely helps that it's gonna be released soon. But then we'll have another dry spell of KH stuff until BBS Final Mix comes out ... or longer, if you don't pick up the Japanese games.

I was fascinated by Terra throughout his story, but I didn't actually like Aqua until near the end of her story. I was impatiently ... waiting for something in particular out of her, and I finally got it from the secret movie. Her situation is just amazingly tragic, and I say that having gone into BBS knowing it'd be a tragedy.
