On apping

everlastingsoul: (Kingdom Hearts - never was)
So I drop one angry guy and app another angry guy.

...

Yeah, that would go over well. I think I better wait out this finished-a-new-game rush before doing anything stupid. But augh, I'm getting random KH muses all over the place.

In related news, Birth by Sleep has my favorite battle system of the series so far. And I think it's the first one since the beginning of KH2 to make me cry. Very good game.
everlastingsoul: (Kingdom Hearts - Because we're worth it)
...I am so glad they decided to put this game on the PSP. The gameplay looks awesome. Ven has some incredibly sweet-looking moves.

The close-up of Ienzo leaves no doubt in my mind that he's perfectly capable of doing what's necessary for Ansem's research. That expression is kinda scary on a kid that young. :|;

Still freaking busy. Niece's baptism on Saturday, shopping/hanging out on Sunday, and now project due dates today and tomorrow. Blah.
everlastingsoul: (LexVexZex - Sci-ent-ist)
I love how there's so much spazzing and debate now that there's a picture of Ienzo for BBS. Man, KH fandom, never change.

He's so adorable. So, so freaking adorable.
everlastingsoul: (Laharl - Slumber on)
Gaaah, I hate these damn automatic updates on Vista. First it downloads the updates when I don't confirm the downloads, and then it restarts the damn computer when I'm asleep. I had been sitting on the fence about upgrading to Windows 7, but that ... that was the last straw. I lost all of those replies for the relationship meme. ~_~ *brb looking for checkbook*

Work has been hectic for the last week or so, and next week is gonna be equally bad because I have four projects to publish. And now I'm having trouble with FrameMaker files on SharePoint. Ugh. I've sent out an e-mail asking if others have the same issue, or however they get around it. This is why I prefer the internal content management system. That system has much better versioning control.

Hrm... Now I've forgotten why I made this entry in the first place. It had something to do with Kingdom Hearts 358/2, but ... uh. I've forgotten now. I know it had to be put under an LJ cut for spoilers, though.

...Oh. That's it.

358/2 Days -- Saix )
everlastingsoul: (Kingdom Hearts - Gambler of Fate)
So I got the new KH the day it came out. (Actually, my brother bought it for me because he owes me a lot of money.) I'm on day 150 or so now, just cleared a recon mission with Xaldin. (Hope that's not too much of a spoiler?)

It's pretty good for a mission-based game. I do get tired of returning to the Grey Area, but at least the Organization members change it up every few days. I'm amused that Demyx is notably different from how fandom has perceived him, and Xigbar throws out nicknames a lot. Still waiting to hear more on Luxord. His early comment about missing half the poker league just... I can imagine them sitting down and trying to play poker. Luxord would always play dealer just so he could say, "And the win goes to the house. Again."

Won't say anything about the main trio, except for the fact that Roxas is such a :|-faced derp. Hilarious.

I've been clearing Mission Mode by myself, and I'm noticing just how much harder it is without Organization backup. I don't want to tackle the later Agrabah missions by myself, since if there's one thing Demyx did right, it was spam potions whenever he was dying (and that happened a lot).

Edit: Demyx and his 'awesome' - cut for 'spoilers' for Casual Gear and Mystery Gear )

Just some fic ideas that never went anywhere.

Title: The Fate Woven
Series: Kingdom Hearts/Loom (as in the LucasArts game, yes)
Original concept: The Age of the Great Guilds continues, surviving the Third Shadow and the unmaking of the Great Loom. Three Shadows had befallen the land, each time stripping the earth bare as chaos rents the entire world and corrupts all in its path. Only those that are able to transcend the world’s pattern are ever allowed to escape, and even they do not take well to such an idea.

The 20 years following the Third Shadow have been kind to the noble Guilds. Communications have been established with the Weavers for the first time in generations, and new blood is entering the Guild after the Rules of Membership were amended by Elder Bobbin. Life is simple and slowly returning to an upswing of activity.

And then five gray threads appear in the Great Loom.

The Fate Woven )

Title: Reflect, Refract
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Original concept: While taking a break from research, Ienzo finds a strange mirror in Ansem's possession allows him to see whatever he wishes. After a few rounds of trying to confuse the magic mirror, Ienzo says what he fully expects cannot be answered.

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall—show me anything, everything, and nothing at all.”

When next he gazes into the mirror, Ienzo finds himself staring at a terribly familiar young man.

The young man introduces himself as Zexion.

All I will say about the game for now is...

I can just imagine the fanbratty "OMG THEY DON'T PRONOUNCE THE ORG'S NAMES AS I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE SQUARE I HAET U" rants. Mar-luu-shaa. Zex-ee-in. If it was to be pronounced Mar-luck-see-ah, they would have romanized his name Ma-ru-ku-shi-a, not Ma-ru-sha.

It's not the end of the world. Calm down.

I wouldn't know this, but did fandom throw fits over how Saix was pronounced?
everlastingsoul: (Zexion - Number VI)
Spent my entire evening (read: 6:30 PM to midnight) at a clothing swap arranged by bible study. I don't think I've had so much fun trying on clothes before; I dislike clothes shopping. I got two nice coats -- one that's gotta be pretty pricey -- and a lot of turtlenecks/sweaters. And two of those fisherman hats, because I'm a dork. I'll need to ask Sun for some of the pictures, if she doesn't send them out...

Finally got the songs for songfest. Will need to practice later, since I really suck at dancing.

Did a much-needed update of my friends list. All I basically did was remove people that had not friended me back and remove a few abandoned LJs. Nothing much.

And after five long, lonely months, Lexaeus has a Zexion that reciprocates his feelings. ... Or would, if he had his heart back. ... I'd be very amused if Lex got Zex before Xig got Dem.

Spent the day (when my internet was working) looking at old RP threads. Good times, good times...

Vortexx: Sync and Florian )

And that's just an example of why Mari is the best Florian ever. ♥

ISLAND: Sync and Anise )

... Sync and Anise getting handcuffed together on Valentine's Day was pure love. One of the Island events I managed to stay on top of.

Ville de Lumiere: Zexion and Demyx )

And Zexion getting drunk on his first day working in a host club... Well. Enough said.

Shukusei: Tir, Sheena, Cleo, Ted, Maximillian, Fred, and Viki )

The epic proportions of the AWESOMENESS of Shukusei still leaves me in awe to this day. T_T

Paraphrased a little to keep things making some sense!

Eway, in reference to Vexen's coat. )
everlastingsoul: (Demyx - Oooh dots)
Well, Organization smut. Short, drug-induced, yaoi, and NSFW (well, duh). As a disclaimer (ha ha, here it comes), the two guys involved are of age and blah blah blah.

Characters: Zexion, Marluxia
Rating: NSFW; non-con (drugged), some bondage
Summary: Marluxia tests an experimental drug on one of the more difficult Organization members to catch off-guard. Skips straight to the sex because I'm impatient.

He could not stop shaking. )

Characters: Zexion, Lexaeus
Rating: 15+; some blood
Summary: In the aftermath, Lexaeus tries to get Zexion to drink some tea.

He could not smell. )

Took me a long time to think this thing through. Very obscure predictions on what may happen in KH3 (no spoilers, of course), but most of it can be pieced together from KH and KH2. Inspired by the secret movies of KH2 and Final Mix.

Bleh. I can't seem to do anything productive at home. Which is weird, because I'm actually doing some writing once in awhile. *gestures at meme below* Hm. Here's hoping I actually feel productive when I get back to the apartment.

Graduation's on Saturday. I ... don't know what to think. My brain's kinda shut down or something. O_o

So, zeal_goddess, your LiveJournal reveals...

You are... 3% unique (blame, for example, your interest in silverberg brothers) and 7% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy writing). When it comes to friends you are popular. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

Your overall weirdness is: 34

(The average level of weirdness is: 27.
You are weirder than 74% of other LJers.)

Find out what your weirdness level is!

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] hopechan:
If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion.

Kingdom Hearts: For Whom The Key Appears )

Kingdom Hearts: The Tragic Kingdom (working title) )

And now something longer and decidedly finished, if unpolished. Inspired by (and loosely based on) Entranceway and very much a Lex/Zex fic.

Kingdom Hearts: Matters of the Heart )

I attempted this meme before but never got to finish everyone's comments because I got busy. So, now that I'm notably not as busy, I'd like to give this a try again.

In true RPG style there is always some weird explanation for how the party gets together. You post a response to this entry, asking: "How does (your name here) join the party?" I, and anyone else who cares enough to play the game, will then respond to tell you how you would join the party.

If anyone has any other neat memes (creative ones or writing ones), please bring them to my attention. I'd like to kickstart my writing again.

On that note, the pr0n ideas strike again.

Zexion: The Other Uses For Good Daikon.

*runs away screaming, clawing at brain*

First off, I got the internship offer. Only took nine weeks. Yeow. I just need stuff in writing. I'm giddy at the idea that I'll be getting security cards, an ID badge, and all that swanky big corporation stuff. >_> Thank you to everyone that's wished me luck or congratulated me in some way. ^^

We're not moving out of the apartment. Well, as a family, we decided on that. I need to talk to management on Tuesday to see if we can extend our lease a few months while my internship is in effect. If I get a full-time position, I'll probably end up moving in September.

We went to dim sum and then bouldering (read: rock climbing without needing equipment) today. It took the entire day, but I guess I had fun. I'm pretty sure my upper torso (arms especially) is going to hurt like hell tomorrow. I couldn't even do things that required clenching my hands, like opening bottles or boxes. If I was more fit, I think I'd like climbing, though.

I'm gonna be going home between the end of class and graduation. I need to learn how to drive. Sigh.

Kingdom Hearts has eaten my brain. I've been slowly building the foundations of another fanfic (another epic, natch) with a big old AU stamp on it. I've written enough of it to come to the conclusion that I suck at writing Axel. Lovely.

Speaking of KH fanfics, there's also inspiration for Zexion vs. Albert Silverberg. Oh dear, oh dear.

And here's me writing straight to this entry with a time limit of ten minutes )
everlastingsoul: (Leon - His Fate)
So I helped out with the Engineering Open House all day today. I'm finally off and going to do a bit of work before going back to the apartment. Then we're going out to karaoke tonight. Not a bad Friday.

I've got crappy homework due, though. Ugh. I need to make another style template for stupid 407 and actually do my coding for 438. *coughs* And hopefully James will get back to me about the presentations we're supposed to do. (30 minutes on coding technology? I'm gonna die.)

Kingdom Hearts has proven to be a decent muse. I've got the entire Organization crowding in my head; once in awhile, Vexen blows something up and reminds me how freakishly green his eyes are, or Luxord stresses the ni in Organization, or Xigbar turns his guns into a sniper rifle... *sighs happily* And the crack in the fandom is nice after thinking too hard with the Suikoden fandom.

Of course, when I have the opportunity to get any doujinshi I want comes up, the first thing that comes to mind is "Alllllbert." Funny how that works, huh?

Bah...

My throat is annoying me. It's been sore and I've been coughing for about a weak (but am otherwise fine), and karaoke on Saturday didn't help the problem much. But who can resist singing when you go out to karaoke?

So our class is going to be looking at Flickr for our 407 help system. Lovely... I mixed it up with Twitter, so now I'm annoyed at myself and embarrassed for jumping to conclusions. Blah.

In muse talk, Organization XIII has moved into my head. Although my favorite is Zexion, Xigbar and Saix are the loudest in my head. And I don't understand the appeal of "Zemyx." I've decided I prefer antagonists that function as a group over individual villains. The ideas of some of the groups interacting are very interesting--the Destroyers, the God-Generals, the Oniwabanshu, Organization XIII, and on and on and on...

What else...? Oh, I finished Suikoden II with both the Rune of Beginning ending and the best ending. I totally forgot about the little scene at the end where the three go to see Jillia and Pilika and Pilika runs over to Jowy (which we don't actually see; all we see is Nanami and Riou walking and Jowy running to catch up with them). So cute.

Now I'm into Rogue Galaxy, which my brother got a long time ago and neither of us ever touched. I clocked in over 10 hours on it this weekend--it's a really good game. My brother joked that the battle system was "what Final Fantasy XII should've been." I laughed.
everlastingsoul: (Luc - Without words)
I wrote a very short Kingdom Hearts thing. Yaoi porn, for that matter.

What is the world coming to? How did I end up visiting that fandom?

*eyes the Cloaked Schemer* ... Oh yeah.
everlastingsoul: (Redheaded wizard)
Mm... Went to Jen's house again and just played card games for a few hours with the other officers. Didn't think it'd be that exciting, but I'm glad I went; playing Mao and Dirty Minds led to ... lots of cracking up.

Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix + Re: Chain of Memories looks incredibly nice. I'd really like to see how they tie in the extra boss battles... Dream sequences? Castle Oblivion again? Considering Final Mix is the American version ported to Japan with additional content, I hope they bring it over.

Clearing Toran Castle in Suikoden again. Forgot just how massive the caverns in the castle actually are...
