Suikoden Tactics
So, today I attended this little research symposium for the Tohoku University students visiting UW. I stayed for the full four hours and talked to them about their past research. It was fun trying to communicate with them; I talked to one girl about cellphones by presenting mine, and then she went and got hers and we compared. Then I tried to explain to another two students that I thought their poster was cool, and just ended up saying "kakkoi" to get the point across. >.> I think I surprised them.
Anyway, Suikoden Tactics. I got it last week, but I haven't been playing it due to school. It's really cool so far. I'm starting again from the beginning because, after seeing there's different prizes for getting Rank S in each battle, I wanted to get the ones I only ranked A on.
"Get ready to hold onto something, 'cuz this ship's about to rock!" I love Hervey's attitude on this game. It shows off his brashness a lot more than Suikoden IV could. His voice actor's really good here, too.
"Sorry -- this won't take long."
"That lousy son of a..."
Ahaha... Man. Walter is frickin' awesome. Too bad he got ... transformed. *shudders* That whole scene sent a chill down my spine. It's been awhile since I've played a game where something got to me like that... >_> Maybe it's a combination of what's happening and the voice acting. The voice acting's actually really good; I totally believed Kyril's pain when he was screaming for his father.
Kika's way of mourning is so sad. I cried when she fell on top of Edgar's coffin.
Andarc and Seneca are cool, too. They remind me of Pahn and Cleo, except Seneca's blatantly flirt-teasing with Andarc. ... Actually, Andarc has this whole "I will protect you with my life" theme going on ... like Gremio.
... ... Are Walter and Kyril of the McDohl family? >___> Walter even looks like Teo. And they're from the Scarlet Moon Empire, to boot...
... Anywho...
The music is love in this game. It feels a lot more like Suikoden I and II.
And Peck was hot. Man, poor hot guy. ;_; His one line practically made me swoon. And it also made my mind scream out "Brandeau x Peck!" *slaps self for that thought*

It's really difficult getting high rankings. >_> I got frustrated after doing the battle with Steele three times and kinda gave up on that stuff. As far as I've noticed, your rank is judged from the time it takes to complete the battle and if all of your characters survive. In Middleport, I had to have the pirate allies survive 'teh wrath of Sigurd' to get Rank S.
