I was thinking about this several days ago, but I never wrote it down.

Anyone that's played Suikoden V will have noticed that Jeane's hair changed quite drastically from Suikoden IV to V -- namely, from silver to pink.

Well, the royal family of Falena has notably silver hair. At first, I dismissed it as just Arshtat and the hero, but then I began to think that Haswar's hair wasn't because of age ... and then Sialeeds clinched that by stating that her hair was dyed.

So we know that the Falenan royal family inherited their rare silver hair from someone.

Jeane, maybe? Wouldn't it make sense? If someone were to see Jeane with her silver hair, they would start asking her lineage, which would be ... quite ... awkward. So she dyes her hair while she's in Falena...

Now, where do the Lightfellows and Culgan come into the picture? Well, note that Wyatt, Chris, and Culgan all have silver hair. We know from Suikoden V that the "deadwood" princes are very much useless in Falena, and that they are "only useful for marrying off" to foreign countries. So who's to say that past princes in Falena weren't married off to nobles in Zexen and Highland?

By this theory, the Prince would be distantly related to the Lightfellows and Culgan.

And Jeane was the ancient ancestor of all of them.

... Yeah, I'll be quiet now. *shuffles off*

I heard they changed Jeane's hair because she wasnt related to the royal family before the game came out. So... I don't know.

But that Wyatt, Chris, Culgan thing sounds good.

Oh yeah. I remember Wyatt saying that Chris looks like her mother, and Wyatt's hair isn't exactly silver...

It seems pretty ... well, uh, silly to change Jeane's hair after having it consistently silver for five other games. I hope they didn't change her hair for that reason ... because then I'd start to fear consistency of other things.

Concerning Wyatt: Hmm... Good to know. Maybe it's just his dark skin that made his hair look silver-ish. Or Wyatt could have been referring to facial features ... unless the context makes it more apparent he's talking about her hair.

*blank look* Does Chris' mother have a name? I want to say "Anna," but I think I might've just heard it from a fanfic...

...it does seem pretty silly, but I remember reading about it somewhere. Don't know where, but it was a pretty reputable Suikoden site. Maybe she just died it silver-- or better yet.

It's not silver, it's white and you know there's a difference!!!!

I remember it being as "Anna" but I could have read it from the manga or something. I can look it up. I can tell you for sure I've never read fanfiction for Wyatt, Chris, and her mother, so I can assure you I didn't get it from any fanfiction.

Helmut also had silver hair...and that was going to be the basis for a fanfic involving him and a certain Zexen family. 'Cept I haven't had a chance to write it.

And Helmut's also a noble of sorts... At least, I believe he's considered part of the Imperial Faction.

... Geez, I've already forgotten the names of the factions in Tactics.

Maxine, Sierra and Rean all have silver hair...

Rats. Those three would be difficult to explain. Especially Maxine, since I know nothing about her. If Neclord's hair was silver, I could say that the vampirism process did something...

Come to think of it, Genshu and Kage's hair would be silver too. Hmm... Guess silver hair isn't as rare as I thought it was.
