Tiiired...

Just bought the three Mario & Luigi games on a whim. It started as frustration over not being able to find a working Superstar Saga rom for hours last night, and then not being able to get past the level up screen... And now I've got Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, and Bowser's Inside Story coming in next week.

It's kinda dangerous, buying video games on a whim. :|;;

I finished a new drabble for my Silverberg storyline, but I'm not happy with how clunky the action writing is. I can do one-on-one fights, but multiple attackers versus one is awkward. I kinda just want it finished so I have the setting in place; I intend to use the Grasslands for at least three other drabbles, though I only have vague plot ideas right now. Gotta get Caesar and Hugo's reunion in there somehow.

So Leon's now got two castmates. He'll be excited, but I also imagine he'll be a little grumpy that he has to rearrange his lab to make room for them. But now I'm presuming they'll all room together. :|; He made some talk with Link about going into the mountains, and now having Claude and Ashton around will give him a little more confidence to go out there. What he'll find in the old base ruins, though... Uh. We'll see. I think Lymle disappearing will be the most significant disappearance for him since Ahiru; he'll probably be down when he realizes he can't introduce her to his friends.

Walter is not getting out there enough. He's been sick, but I reeeeally need to get him more active. It's difficult because he doesn't like to talk or get out there, especially since it's winter. Come spring time? He'll be outside and doing things again. Maybe he can work on something for the house for Fenimore and Shirley? He's probably a little claustrophobic after being indoors for so long.

Albert... Hahahaha. :| He's "withdrawing" more, which is weird for him in that he stays out of his house instead of becoming more of a shut-in. (He's got his reasons.) He knows very well that he's walking the thin line of helping out the other people against Yuber and screwing himself over by getting 'his summon' killed. The recent arrivals from people of his time period, plus Yuber's killing of Vash so soon after their arrival, threatens his ability to convince the new arrivals that he isn't a threat. (More so Lilly than Nash, since Lilly's a whiny, stubborn brat. At least Nash thinks in gray areas and benefits.) Aaand a lucetilocked post will be coming around sometime soon.

And I'll end with a meme I ganked. :|b

Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love.

I LOVE Superstar Saga. it is the handheld game that I always recommend to people as long as they don't mind turn-based gaming with active participation. it's so cute and Mario and Luigi are just too funny together. oh Luigi

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's exactly why I got so frustrated I just bought all the games. XD I'd played Partners in Time before Superstar Saga, and something about Superstar Saga just caught my attention much faster than Partners in Time. I loved what little I got to play of the first game, so I had to play it from beginning to end first. I also played a little demo of Bowser's Inside Story in a store, and I liked the idea of playing Bowser for once.

For the meme: You're incredibly strong and tolerant, and that's admirable in your situation. I don't know if I could be that strong.

Pffft. At least you're playing the games, right? It could be so much worse. >>;

I could give Walter another random job with someone.

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'll definitely keep that in mind if Walter gets so bored that he goes around fishing for jobs again. ...He seems to only do those things when he has absolutely nothing else to do.

For the meme: I think you're very imaginative and creative; it really shows in your OCs and the plots you put together.

[identity profile] greyangel.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
lol video games. Sounds like you'll have stuff to keep you busy. I haven't bought one for myself since ... Suikoden III, I don't think. :|;; I only played Partners in Time because that's the one my brother owns. Probably will play the others when he gets them in.

Playing Dragon Quest IV and KH 358/2 gave me some time to remember why I like the handhelds so much. So I got more handheld games. >> I don't sit in front of the TV playing video games as much anymore.

I know well the dangers of impulse videogame buying. It's how I have 10 DS games I've yet to play. Somehow. (I maintain they were worthwhile purchases.)

And Nash isn't planning on telling anyone much of anything. It's not really in his interest to turn everyone against Albert. Lilly, though...

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
They can sit together on a shelf and look appealing! Don't you know that video games make great bookshelf decorations?

Yeah, I hear you there. Albert kinda has trust in Nash in that regard, but his conversation with Nami's given him reason to be suspicious of a few particular people. Unfortunately, Nash's boss would be one of them. :|;

For the meme: We haven't known each other long, but I love your Nash and his witty humor. By extension, I think you are quite witty, and your humor really jives with my own.

I haven't played any of those. As a Mario fan, I must ask how they are.

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Have you played the Paper Mario games? They play similarly to those Mario RPGs, except without Mario having abilities related to his being made of paper. And instead of storyline-related characters joining you along the way, your main party consists of Mario and Luigi (and Baby Mario and Luigi in Partners in Time).

For the meme: I enjoy your nostalgia trips -- the ones that I can relate to, at least. XD It's also fun to watch you flail and get excited. (What? I observe things in chat. :|;)

I imagine playing someone like Walter is indeed a pain in the butt because of how much he hates most of the people around from what I've seen of him. The shoveling snow off the roof post was kind of funny though.

And you also know full well that Yuber has been behaving, for a bloodthirsty demon. And yeah, Lilly is a pain in the butt, but don't forget about Sasarai. He told Luffy to seek out a man named Silverberg.

And well, let's not get into impulse video game buying with me. I have a very large pile of games I haven't played yet.

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's not so much hate as it is distrust in Luceti. He's grown enough to make the distinction between "human" and "Orerines," so he's just generally more wary of others. His race was largely isolated for years, after all.

Oh yes, I know (and Albert knows!) that Yuber's been behaving. That's exactly why Albert hasn't reprimanded him; he just made a remark and left it at that. He knew it was inevitable that Yuber would kill, but the timing (from his standpoint) was terrible. And yes, Sasarai really was the one who started the whole situation of people connecting Albert to Yuber. Lilly hasn't done anything nearly as damaging.

I definitely buy video games impulsively. I hate it. I have so many games I've never, ever played. Or games that I've never finished because I just keep buying. :|;

I was debating whether or not Caesar would understand the kind of trouble his brother would be in if Yuber died. |D He'd probably assume there's some kind of connection but I fear his reaction if it turned out to be something more.

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
Are they games that you're at least interested in playing? :|; My brother buys some games he's not interested in at all just because he could get them at a bargain price.

Oh Caesar. XD I wouldn't be surprised if he had some inkling that something bad might happen, but he tries to ignore it because it's such a cynical thought. Nothing bad'll happen unless he thinks something bad'll happen!

For the meme: You're nice, great to talk to, and tolerant of my doujin picture spam. That's impressive in my book. :|b

I spent the last half hour researching the Mario games you mentioned. That's half an hour I'll never get back, but now I know what games I'm getting this weekend. |D

And my younger brother yells at me whenever I impulse-buy games! It's sad, because we can get games really cheap here, so I just keep getting and getting new ones, forgetting that I don't exactly have the time to play them all... :I

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Nice! I'm a little surprised they're not known, since there's three games now. Buuut there's a ton of Mario games, so I guess I'm not too surprised.

Ouch, your younger brother? :|; It's my older brother who gets annoyed -- and it's more with my younger brother, who impulse-buys a lot more than me.

Weeell, I don't think I need to go into too much detail for the meme. :P I like that you've known me long enough to know so many different sides of me. I know how you feel about buying video games on a whim -- I'll stalk games for months, and then finally break down and buy it when my budget would probably be better if I had been patient for just a little longer...

For Walter: I think all the Ferines are feeling a little claustrophobic at this point, much to Senel's irritation, pfft. And working on the house could be interesting. What did you have in mind?

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, that's the worst. :( Knowing you should wait, but just giving in to impatience. That's exactly why I "deprive" myself by not looking up games and new releases.

I actually had nothing in mind for Walter. I suppose, if I wanted to go down the tedious-and-pointless route, he could try to reroute water from the nearby river to form a little moat around the house a la Musette's ToDR house. Even smaller things like a bookshelf or table would give him something to do.

For the meme: You are totally the Legendia guru to me. I enjoy plotting with you (and Kukki and Yosh, when it happens) because the Legendia fandom is so tiny and excited; I think the size of the fandom makes it that much more of an event when the world/culture/anything else can be discussed. >>;

[identity profile] yo-san.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Clearly I should throw Fenimore at one of Luceti's psychopaths in order to give Walter something to do. ...Wait, I think I've made this joke sometime before. Or I could poke Silvie into doing it with Shirley so that Walter can have a dealing-with-having-a-heart-attack subplot. (More seriously, Silvie has scooped my question of "what kind of thing for the house?")

So Albert's becoming a shut-out? *ba-dum...tish?* ...I got nothin'. Still, I'm curious about these reasons you speak of, but I imagine that you'd rather me just pay attention and figure them out for myself.

[identity profile] daathic.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
The very idea of throwing Fenimore at one of Luceti's psychopaths gave me the horrible mental image of Fenimore doing that on a regular basis and giving Walter a freaking aneurysm in the process. In cases like that, it'd be safer to lock the victim up and let the psychopath run free!

Well, it's a little subtle, but Albert's aware that the more time he spends cooped up in the house with Raine, the more likely it is that their conversations will lead to the topic of his world and certain people there. So he wants to avoid those talks. He's also being a little more visible so he can have some meetings completely off the journals. ...That probably wouldn't be as significant if he didn't have those hermit-like tendencies.
