Snowboarding
Dec. 28th, 2007 07:29 pmWent snowboarding today with my brothers, Kathryn, and some guys from church. Went to Snoqualmie Pass and tried out the bunny slope and beginner run, Holiday. Am currently in a world of pain from falling over so much.
I think the most trying part of the entire experience was trying to stand up on the snowboard. I can handle the actually boarding and falling parts; it's strapping my boots onto the board and standing up that take all my stamina. ... Though there was this one point where one end of my snowboard ended up stuck in the snow and my legs were in the air... I kinda laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of that moment.
I was able to stand up under my own power about halfway down the beginner run. Peter was really patient with me and even helped me figure out the lifts. I guess I can see how he's a good teacher.
So I've got two more chances to go up for the season. I need to work out my quads so standing up on my board isn't such a friggin' trial.
And now I'm gonna go collapse somewhere.
