...I am so glad they decided to put this game on the PSP. The gameplay looks awesome. Ven has some incredibly sweet-looking moves.

The close-up of Ienzo leaves no doubt in my mind that he's perfectly capable of doing what's necessary for Ansem's research. That expression is kinda scary on a kid that young. :|;

Still freaking busy. Niece's baptism on Saturday, shopping/hanging out on Sunday, and now project due dates today and tomorrow. Blah.

It's not even Christmas yet and I have something to add to my resolutions for 2010:

Revise and finish that Silverberg drabble collection.

It was initially going to be 100 drabbles, but I think things fell through the longer I worked on it and realized I was having trouble fitting in themes with the overall story.

I was looking over the old tags for it last night and I realized it's been over a year since I wrote a new drabble. :( I found things that need to be fixed, like references to Kooluk in the present tense and uses of the Conqueror Rune, as well as ... well, bad grammar on my part.

Some things would need to be rearranged... Others completely removed. I'd also need two lists for it -- one with the preferred reading order, and the other with the chronological order.

I was kinda amused with how coherent the story is when it's read in the preferred order. Things have a very neat impact when a character's death is referenced before you actually read about it happening. (The same goes with reading about those final coherent thoughts, then another drabble where the final damage of Raging Nostrum is shown.)

All the foreshadowing surprised me too, since I really don't remember having planned out the series in the first dozen drabbles or so. Leon showing interest in Albert after the war, the nature of Yuber's interest in Albert... Yeah. Surprising.

I never got into the really weird/damning parts of the series, either. Albert learning about his and Caesar's maternal grandparents. Tir and Gremio interacting with Caesar's kids. Albert and Caesar growing apart as teenagers. The brothers' relationships with their parents. Leon's last encounter with Yuber. Not to mention what happens to Albert and Caesar's kids in the long run.

Blah blah blah blah. This isn't even a fraction of the stuff I've apparently jotted about the drabbles over the years. I need to finish it. I know how it's supposed to end, dang it. Then maybe I can finish those Legendia drabbles, too.

So I decided to just go ahead and by that SmartDraw program. It seemed to have a lot of applications for what it is. And if it isn't too useful, it was only $200, right?

...Yeah. I'll be missing that $200.

I've been thinking about this for a long, long while, but I've been wanting to write more Suikoden stuff. I have another epic idea about the original Suikoden world and how it ties into the Suikoden Tierkreis mechanics, but ... bah. I haven't finished a story since The Insane.

Maybe I should actually focus on writing something that's already partly written. Like EHW or Tabularasa. EHW was heading into darker territory with Pesmerga in the picture and I ran into a mental block trying to figure out Caesar and Apple's dialogue with an amnesiac Albert.

Since I would have to scrap the current story if I ever decided to go back to the idea, here's part of a chapter that never got finished. I like to think my writing's gotten better since I gave up on this fic.

Edit: Why is it that I'm hearing Sasarai referred to as a Bishop General in RP nowadays? Was something retconned? Because I'm pretty sure they consistently called him a Bishop (or sometimes Priest in Suikoden II's garbled translations). Priests and High Priest Hikusaak in Japanese, and Bishops and Chief Bishop Hikusaak in English.

Oh wait. I'm not taking the manga into account, am I? It just seems redundant, considering what a Bishop is in Harmonia -- a political official and general. It'd be like calling Albert a strategist-tactician.

My brother thinks I should join a gym. I have no idea what that really means. I don't doubt that I could use a gym membership, but what does it mean to join a gym? Do you fill out a bunch of papers, get a membership card, and pay monthly for said membership? I'm one of those people who feel awkward exercising outdoors (unless it's an outright outdoor sport, like soccer or football [yes I used to like playing football hush] or something), so ... yeah. I'd probably be different if I didn't share an apartment with my brothers, or if we had a house instead. We don't have enough room for me to properly exercise.

... ...And now that I'm in the process of visiting a gym website, a customer representative popped up in live chat to talk with it. Pressured much? *scared*

In other news, going to a baby shower for my cousins this weekend. They're expecting twins in ... January, I believe it is now.

On the roleplaying front, I've been designing room layouts for Albert, Raine, and Genis' house. Sapph and Marbles did their characters' rooms, and then Sapph also helped with the living room, dining room, and kitchen. I was trying to design the outside of the house, but I started going, "durrr, maybe I should actually finish the insides first." The only thing left to do is the kitchen.

And there's a Yuber in Luceti now. The very idea of him being around scares me, because it complicates Albert's position a lot. Hopefully the muse doesn't drive himself into a nervous wreck and suicide on me. 8|;

Things to do for work: EDD and master PDFs. Try to do that crap tonight.

Week-long shift delay at Damned. Hurraaah. This is time to do Oktoberfest, if I actually get up the motivation to do it. I've got an idea, but execution is wracking my brain.

Should make up a list of entry ideas for Luceti. I've got several things Leon needs to be working on, Walter needs to decorate unpack, and Albert... Yeah, I've got nothing past the Lucetiland event. :| ...Actually, scratch that. Got an idea for the season. (And holy crap, yesterday was his two-year anniversary ... thing.)

So, up until sometime two weeks ago, I was playing Demon's Souls for PS3. Pretty cool, but ungodly hard if you're impatient. It still baffles me that you're expected to run around these huge maps without save points. I stopped playing it because it was getting creepy and even harder for me, and pretty much gave up on the PS3 for week. Then, last week, my brother bought Uncharted. Freaking addictive game, and so much fun. I'll have to shell out some money to get Uncharted 2 whenever it's ... not sold out everywhere.

Job changed Shin and Lucifer last night. Shin'll be OBB hunting until rebirth, I think. Lucifer's gonna chill in the GH graveyard. Wonder if I can healbomb DL? ...Probably not.

Gaaah, I hate these damn automatic updates on Vista. First it downloads the updates when I don't confirm the downloads, and then it restarts the damn computer when I'm asleep. I had been sitting on the fence about upgrading to Windows 7, but that ... that was the last straw. I lost all of those replies for the relationship meme. ~_~ *brb looking for checkbook*

Work has been hectic for the last week or so, and next week is gonna be equally bad because I have four projects to publish. And now I'm having trouble with FrameMaker files on SharePoint. Ugh. I've sent out an e-mail asking if others have the same issue, or however they get around it. This is why I prefer the internal content management system. That system has much better versioning control.

Hrm... Now I've forgotten why I made this entry in the first place. It had something to do with Kingdom Hearts 358/2, but ... uh. I've forgotten now. I know it had to be put under an LJ cut for spoilers, though.

I've been spending a lot of money so far this month. Fees for getting my driver's license, various expensive dinners and lunches in celebration (my brother also proposed to his girlfriend, so it's really been a busy weekend), buying Final Fantasy Dissidia...

Oh. And I bought my first car.

I kinda figured I would get this result. It's usually a tossup between water and earth, and water is the more "creative" of the two.

Finally got my driver's license yesterday. Now that the test is over with, I keep telling myself, "Why the hell didn't I get it sooner?" It really wasn't that bad at all, even after screwing up parallel parking and backing around a curb.

Already in discussion with my parents about getting a car. If they buy another car so we can switch our current amount of cars around, I'll have to pay $6,900 to get my brother's car. Makes me wince, thinking about draining half my bank account like that.
